History
With over 15 years of musical experience from djing, playing in bands, various musicprodutions, the founder of OHSOTRUE music, Sven Fobbe, looks back on a versatile career of 10 years in corporate musicbusiness. Living in both major cities of Germany, Hamburg and Berlin, he early became infected by their musicscenes.
Sven started his career by promoting artists like Roni Size, Incognito, US3, Femi Kuti amongst trendy cd-projects like Verve Remixed and Gilles Petersons Worldwide to the german press media, before marketing a huge variety of international jazzartists on labels like Verve, Jazzland Recordings and Concord Records.
He developed marketingcampaigns for living legends like Terry Callier, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Salif Keita, Elvis Costello and Joe Sample as also recent top jazzacts like Roy Hargrove, Randy Crawford, Curtis Stigers, George Benson & Al Jarreau and Bugge Wesseltoft.
His strong roots in clublife manifested not only in curating a numerous amount of lifestyle and conceptional musiccompilations but also in his work as remix a&r for the german Verve department. Arranging remixes for the labels highlights by Henrik Schwarz, Nicola Conte, De-Phazz, New Sector Movements, Dzihan & Kamien were just the start for curating the long term project and exclusive remix collection MPS JazzReworks featuring the catalogue of the black forest label.
From 2005 to 2008 Sven Fobbe also shaped and organized the berlin based Verve Club nights showcasing the labels international jazzstars.
In summer 2007 he evolved the concept for and also hosted the Jazzland Summercamp. The norwegian electronicjazz label Jazzland Recs, founded by famous pianist Bugge Wesseltoft, showcased their labelrooster at the innercity beach and swimmingpool location of berlins trendy Badeschiff.
